Welcome to my Blog. My very first Blog!
My name is Tim Reid, T Reid, or, on this site, ‘Tried’. I won’t be explaining that everywhere but I thought you might be wondering about the genesis of the name. Tri is also Triathlon.
Now I’m online.
I work, train, race and raise. The reference to ‘raise’ is to my two amazing children who have inspired me to start this website. I won’t really be talking about them here, but their creative achievements before the age of 10 have shown me that anything is possible.
The time for the initial setup of TriedOnline has been found from a period of injury where I would otherwise have been out training in either swimming, cycling & running.
To finalise the setup I needed a little bit of inspiration away from home (and some WiFi).
My Favourite coffee shop
You’ll notice that this coffee shop is also (well, primarily!) a bike shop. Given that this is a review site, I’ll give you a little idea of what you might expect from a visit.
First, walk down St Michael’ Street, enter the double doors and choose either the downstairs sales area or the upstairs show room. Downstairs is where you may be in danger of parting with serious cash as this is where the kit is. Think bikes. Think gadgets! The shop caters for all cycle enthusiasts whether you commute, MTB or Road.
Make your way upstairs and provided you can safely negotiate past the impressive range of bikes you may find yourself in Zappi’s Cafe. The first thing you will be struck by is the laid back atmosphere shared by the true concentration of students, tourists, families and, of course, cyclists, that only Oxford can deliver. All this is served up with a range of artisan coffees together with a selection ridiculously tempting cakes and toasties. A real unique Oxford experience.
You could go and find one of the usual high street coffee shops but why would you when in Oxford? Well in my case – WiFi!
8/10 for today’s visit for not having WiFi.
In the coming weeks and months I’ll populate this site with a little bit of what I’m up to (The Blog) together with reviews of the gadgets and tech I’m using for my training. The focus is triathlon but anyone who gets out and about to their local gym or who cycles/runs may find this site useful.
This is a UK based site and designed and powered entirely by me. Bear with me whilst I learn the ropes of web design.
